SHARED PLAY
Let your child lead a little turn.
Use Justin’s stories to make room for choice, listening, and connection.
Start with a favorite
Offer two familiar choices: the dragon or the muffin, a toy or a book. A child can point, gesture, use their AAC, speak, or choose to watch. Follow the choice rather than requiring a word first.
Do less, together
Play one turn. Pause. Notice how your child joins, then respond to that moment. You can copy a playful movement, share a pretend taste, or open a surprise together. There is no need to finish every activity.
Bring speech goals to the right person
Ask your child’s speech-language pathologist how enjoyable activities can fit their individual plan. The game offers shared play; it does not assess speech or set treatment targets.
Shared play is not a speech assessment or treatment program. Ask your child’s SLP about individual goals.
